What is my grading ?

Some of the sessions are recommended for players with a skill level in a certain range - you can find instructions on how to assess your own playing level in the Self Rating Guide from Pickleball Victoria (PV).

Session Types

Introductory Session
Two courts (1&2) will be allocated and used for an introductory session for new players and for those that are learning to play as well as understanding the scoring and rules.
Open Play
Players (of all skill levels) rotate through the courts with the aim that all players have had the opportunity to play everyone at least once. The first 30 minutes will focus on drills and skill development.

Note: During the Introductory Session on a Saturday, one court (3) will be allocated for players of all skill levels.

Intermediate 1 & 2
This session is for those members who have ‘self-graded’ their skill level as:
  1. Intermediate 1 (PV 2.0-2.5)
  2. Intermediate 2 (PV 3.0)
Note: The first 30 minutes will focus on drills and skill development
Intermediate 2 & 3 / Advanced
This session is for those members who have ‘self-graded’ their skill level as:
  1. Intermediate 2 (PV 3.0)
  2. Intermediate 3 (PV 3.0-3.5)
  3. Advanced (PV 3.5-4.5)

The session will involve a round robin competition where people play with a different person in each game.

At the end of each game we will record the points to tally when the overall session is finished.

Intermediate 3/Advanced
This is an extended (2 1/2 hours) session for those members who have ‘self-graded’ their skill level as:
  1. Intermediate 3 (PV 3.0-3.5)
  2. Advanced (PV 3.5-4.5)
Note: The first 30 minutes will focus on drills and skill development
Courts for Hire
This is only available for financial DCSCP Club Members. Members can take advantage of the Hall/Court facilities for competition practice, partner practice, skinny-singles or any other form of Pickleball practice. One member is to book the Hall and pay for the use thereof. The booking member is then responsible to arrange for other DCSPC members to join them in the Hall and if they wish, share the cost by reimbursing the booking member. Alternatively if another member is keen to use the Hall and finds that it has already been booked, they are to contact the booking member and determine if there is a court or courts free, and if so, discuss payment arrangements. The booking member is responsible for the Hall Security protocols upon entering/leaving the Hall and the safe return of the key.
